Choose a pack for your horses

Natural salt and dietary electrolytes

Rock salt consists primarily of sodium chloride, providing sodium and chloride in the diet. These are electrolytes, but a plain Himalayan salt lick is not a complete electrolyte supplement or a balanced mineral feed. Consumption varies between horses, so access to a block alone does not confirm that a horse has met its daily needs.

A practical addition to your stable routine

Offer the block in a suitable holder or use the supplied rope as directed on the label. Choose a clean, sheltered location and check the block, rope and mounting point regularly. Keep fresh drinking water available and monitor how much each horse consumes.

Plan around workload and weather

Requirements change with the horse’s diet, activity and sweating. For a tailored salt or electrolyte plan, speak with your veterinarian or equine nutritionist. A salt block should complement an appropriate feeding routine.
