Choose salt or a formulated electrolyte product

Natural Himalayan rock salt is primarily sodium chloride. It supplies sodium and chloride, while a formulated equine electrolyte supplement may include additional ingredients. The salt licks offered on this page are not complete electrolyte supplements or balanced mineral feeds.

Frequently asked questions

Are salt licks the same as electrolytes for horses?

Salt provides sodium and chloride, but a plain block is not a complete equine electrolyte formula. Compare ingredients and the intended use on the label.

Will every horse consume the same amount?

No. Voluntary intake varies. Monitor consumption, keep fresh water available and seek a tailored feeding plan from your veterinarian or equine nutritionist.

Can I buy a larger quantity for my stable?

Yes. Compare the listed multipacks or contact Horsemen Salt with your required quantity and delivery ZIP code for an order enquiry.

How do I store unused blocks?

Keep spare blocks dry and protected from contamination. Inspect hanging ropes and holders regularly when blocks are in use.
